KEEP FROZEN part 1

On June 8th @ DE-CONSTRUKT [projekts] space we hosted our first artist event for artist in resident Hulda Ros Gudnadottir at our 41 Seabring Street location in Red Hook. “Keep Frozen part one” an onsite installation with surprise performances by Icelandic artist Hulda Ros Gudnadottir, explores her personal childhood memories of the aesthetics and culture of the docks and the waterfront of a fishing harbor town of Reykjavik.

“Keep Frozen part one” is the first in what will be a series of exhibitions on the same theme, consisted of a single-channel video mixed-media installation, a sculpture, found objects and video. This exhibition is a result of working in various locations along the Atlantic; a fishing town in Morocco, a beach in Africa, a village in Iceland, on the docks in Reykjavik and now a two week residency in Red Hook where the exhibition will take on a site-specific element.

Hulda is hosted through DE-CONSTRUKT projekts and is awarded funding through Icelandic Art Center, The Association of Icelandic Visual Artist (SIM), Reykjavik Municipilaty and the Icelandic Art Copyright Association (Myndstef).
