Lick-Piece (9) is the latest version in a serial video performance. The video shows an attempt to use one’s mouth to reach and lick every body part of one’s own body. The tongue, with its characteristic and naturally inherent sensitivity, serves as an unparalleled prolongation of the face. If a specific part of the body is targeted, the rest of the body supports this act and a gestural system in which one mimics oneself comes into play. The performance that led to this video content continually took place at a new location – sometimes in private, sometimes in semi-private situations, and even on the public street.
